Prayer Shawl
The Bridge of Hope Worship Center gives Prayer Shawls by request to a person who has a special need or has reached a special life milestone. This could be an illness, physical, emotional or spiritual pain; a trial or difficult situation. Shawls may also be given for milestone events such as birthdays and anniversaries. The opportunities are endless.
Usually shawls are crocheted or knitted. However, they also could be quilted or tied or embroidered on fleece. Whatever your talent may allow. Instructions are available for any of these methods.
While making the shawls we pray for the person who will receive it. When it is completed and assigned to someone it is prayed over again specifically for the particular need.
The shawls have been very well received within our church and community and we receive many requests for them. This year we have presented approximately 100 shawls. This is a great opportunity to serve God and church "behind the scenes". Presently we meet once a month at the church on the second Monday at 6:30 pm. We need more volunteers to be able to expand this ministry. If you are interested and would like more information or if you know someone in need of a shawl you may contact
Gail Brown (689-6376) or Sherlie Droege (654-4172).
