Our Mission
The Bridge of Hope has a purpose— it is to depend on the empowering of the Holy Spirit and Grace of God to help people. By helping people, we mean continuing the ministry Jesus began while on earth. This includes: declaring the gospel by word and deed, healing the broken hearted, preaching deliverance to the captives, opening the eyes of the spiritually blind and bringing freedom to those that have been misguided, hurt, used, and mistreated. And lastly, to show and declare that there is hope, through Christ, in a hopeless society. (Luke 4:18-19) We believe Jesus’ words in Luke 10:2, the harvest is great and ready and that we are the laborers. We also understand that the Lord empowers His church to reach people (vs 19) therefore, we look to Him for strength and the resources to do so.
We believe the church has a commission: to teach all people, to baptize new believers and to encourage and equip them to believe and follow the Word of God. In order to fulfill the call of Jesus, the church must have two foundational tools. She must have the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit and Love must be her motivating factor. The same love that God has loved us with shall be imparted to us in order to love others.
Christ sets the members in the body as it pleases Him. Each member is important and has a calling/gift that should be used to help the church achieve her purpose. Pastors and teachers have been set in place to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and to serve God’s people.
With this stated purpose, may this church rise to the occasion and be what God has called us to be. The Lord never calls without equipping.... May souls be saved, the bound—set free, the weak—strengthened, the hurting—helped and may the discouraged be lifted up.
All for the glory of God!
